This Saturday (8 June) I'm giving a tour of the collectors' market by Charing Cross railway station in London.
Starts at 10am, outside the northern entrance to Embankment Tube station.
It'll be like going to a museum - only you can touch (and buy) stuff.
So what's it going to be? Suffragette cards?
Snaps of Edwardian London?
Messages from WW1?
Nothing is too specific. There are collectors out there who only collect postcards of fireplaces.
How did I miss this back in March--the market, I mean. Is it seasonal? (When I was there the wind was stiff and the temp sub-zero.)
ReplyDeleteYes, it takes a bit of finding... it takes place every week in an underground car park. The entrance is between Starbucks and Costa. Although not the biggest market, it's worth finding. Best, G
ReplyDeleteHi Guy I couldn't find it either although I was in a rush that day. Will follow your directions........thanks.
ReplyDeleteAm I likely to find old actress postcards there?...........
Cheers Martin.
Hi Martin,
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you. There will be some old actress cards at the Charing Cross market most Saturdays. To be certain, if you're in London, I'd go along to the Bloomsbury fair on the last Sunday of the month... there are as many as 90 dealers there who will be able to help you out.

Hi Guy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, my plan is to go to Charing Cross on the 14th and the Bloomsbury Fair on the 22nd as I am off work on both dates.
Thanks for the info Martin.
